LITTLE DRUMMER BOY.

1) Come they told me,

pa rum pum pum pum.

A new born King to see,

pa rum pum pum pum.

Our finest gifts we bring

pa rum pum pum pum.

To lay before the King

pa rum pum pum pum,

rum pum pum pum,

rum pum pum pum.

So to honor Him,

pa rum pum pum pum,

when we come.

***********************************************************

2) Little Baby,

pa rum pum pum pum.

I am a poor boy too,

pa rum pum pum pum.

I have no gift to bring,

pa rum pum pum pum.

That's fit to give our King,

pa rum pum pum pum,

rum pum pum pum,

rum pum pum pum.

Shall I play for you!

pa rum pum pum

on my drum.

***********************************************************

3) Mary nodded,

pa rum pum pum pum.

The ox and lamb kept time,

pa rum pum pum pum.

I played my drum for Him,

pa rum pum pum.

I played my best for Him,

pa rum pum pum pum,

rum pum pum pum,

rum pum pum pum.

Then He smiled at me,

pa rum pum pum pum;

me and my drum.

Carol Towne Folk       Song Festival.

GRANDMA GOT RUN OVER BY A REINDEER.

CHORUS:

Grandma go run over by a reindeer,

Walkin' home from our house Christmas eve.

You can say there's no such thing as Santa,

But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

***********************************************************

1) She'd been drinkin' too much egg nog,

And we'd begged her not to go.

But she'd left her medication,

So she stumbled out the door into the snow.

___________________________________________________________

When they found her Christmas mornin',

At the scene of the attack.

There were hoof prints on her forehead,

And incriminatin' Claus marks on her back. [chorus]

***********************************************************

2) Now were all so proud of Grandpa,

He's been takin' this so well.

See him in there watchin' football,

Drinkin' beer and playin' cards with cousin Belle.

___________________________________________________________

It's not Christmas without Grandma.

All the family's dressed in black.

And we just can't help but wonder:

Should we open up her gifts or send them back? [chorus]

***********************************************************

3) Now the goose is on the table

And the pudding made of pig.

And a blue and silver candle,

That would just have matched the hair in Grandma's wig.

__________________________________________________________

I've warned all my friends and neighbours.

Better watch out for yourselves."

They should never give a license,

To a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves. [chorus]

SANTA'S COMING IN A WHIRLYBIRD.

1) The word is out and I been told,

It came by wire from the great north pole.

So every boy and girlie heard

Santa has a new whirlybird. [chorus]

CHORUS:

Santa Claus is coming in a whirlybird,

Christmas Eve in a whirlybird!

So if you are good and you don't goof,

Santa's going to land on your roof.

Whirlybird! Whirlybird! Whirlybird! Whirlybird!

Santa's coming in a whirlybird.

************

2) He turned his reindeer out to graze,

Donner and Blitzen were amazed!

Rudolf said with a happy shout,

"Let's go with Santa and help him out." [chorus]

**********

3) I know that this may sound absurd,

Santa's bringing toys in a whirlybird.

But he's been checking with the U.S. Mail,

With a helicopter he can't fail. [chorus].

*****

4) He has bike for Mike and Mo,

A talking doll full of jays and dough,

Lot's of toys for every child,

If you promise not to drive Mama's Daddy wild.

[chorus]

SNOOPY'S CHRISTMAS.

O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum,

du kannst mir sehr gefallen!

1) The news had come out in the First World War

The bloody Red Baron was flying once more

The Allied command ignored all of its men

And called on Snoopy to do it again.

_______________________________________________________

Was the night before Christmas, 40 below

When Snoopy went up in search of his foe

He spied the Red Baron, fiercely they fought

With ice on his wings Snoopy knew he was caught.

[chorus]

**********************************************************

CHORUS:

Christmas bells those Christmas bells

Ring out from the land

Asking peace of all the world

And good will to man

**********************************************************

2) The Baron had Snoopy dead in his sights

He reached for the trigger to pull it up tight

Why he didn't shoot, well, we'll never know

Or was it the bells from the village below.

[chorus]

**********************************************************

3) The Baron made Snoopy fly to the Rhine

And forced him to land behind the enemy lines

Snoopy was certain that this was the end

When the Baron cried out, "Merry Christmas, my friend"

**********************************************************

The Baron then offered a holiday toast

And Snoopy, our hero, saluted his host

And then with a roar they were both on their way

Each knowing they'd meet on some other day. [chorus]

THE MARVELOUS TOY.

1) When I was just a wee little lad

Full of health and joy,

My father homeward bound he came,

And he gave to me this toy.

A wonder to behold it was

It had many colors bright;

And the moment I set my eyes on it,

It be came my heart's delight. (Chorus)

*******************************************************

CHORUS:

_______________________________________________________

It went zip when it moved,

Bop when it dropped,

Whirrrrr when it stood still!

I never knew just what it was

And I guess I never will.

_______________________________________________________

2) The very first time that I picked it up

I had a big surprise.

At the very bottom were two big buttons,

That looked like two green eyes.

I first pushed one

And then I pushed the other

And then I twisted its lid.

And when I set it down again,

This is what it did. (Chorus)

*******************************************************

3) First it marched left

And then it marched right,

Then it marched right under a chair;

And when I went to see where it had gone,

It wasn't even there.

I began to sob

And my daddy laughed

For he knew that I would fine.

When I turned around

My marvelous little toy

Was chuggin' right behind. (Chorus)

*******************************************************

4) Many years have gone by

Too quickly it seems

And I have my own little boy;

And yesterday I gave to him

My marvelous little toy.

His eyes nearly popped

Right out of his head

And he gave a squeel of glee.

Neither one of us knows just what it is

But he loves it just like me.

*******************************************************

It still zips when it moves

Bops when it drops

Whirrrr when it stands still.

I never knew just what it was

And I guess I never will (2x)

UP ON THE HOUSE TOP.

1) Up on the housetop the reindeer pause,

Down jumps good Ol' Santa Claus.

Down through the Chimney with lots of toys

All for the little ones Christmas Joys! [chorus]

**********************************************************

CHORUS:

Ho! Ho! Ho! Who wouldn't Go?

Ho! Ho! Ho! Who wouldn't go?

Up on the Housetop, Click ! Click! Click!

Down through the chimney with Ol' St. Nick.

**********************************************************

2) First comes the Stocking of Little Nelle

Oh Dear Santa, fill it well.

Here is a dolly that laughs and cries

One that will open and shut her eyes! [chorus]

**********************************************************

3) Next comes the stocking of Little Will

Come and see what a glorious fill!

Here is a hammer a lots of tacks

Also a ball and a whip that cracks! [chorus]

DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?

1) Said the night wind to the little lamb;

Do you see what I see?

'Way up in the sky, little lamb;

Do you see what I see?

A star, a star;

Dancing in the night,

With a tail as big as a kite;

With a tail as big as a kite.

**********************************************************

2) Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy;

Do you hear what I hear?

Ringing thru the sky, shepherd boy;

Do you hear what I hear?

A song, a song;

High above the tree,

With a voice as big as the sea;

With a voice as big as the sea.

**********************************************************

3) Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king;

Do you know what I know?

In your palace warm, mighty king;

Do you know what I know?

A Child, a Child;

Shivers in the cold,

Let us bring Him silver and gold;

Let us bring Him silver and gold.

**********************************************************

4) Said the king to the people ev'rywhere;

Listen to what I say!

Pray for peace, people ev'rywhere;

Listen to what I say!

The Child, the Child;

Sleeping in the night,

He will bring us goodness and light;

He will bring us goodness and light.
